It’s raining and windy and we travelled over roads already covered on the northward journey, so to add to the mood, I decided to shoot in “impressive art” mode. When we arrived early at our old campsite at Lake Hart, we walked along the Trans Australia Railway Line to the next checkpoint, Burando, which had a siding with an axle counter before and after it. There was also a towering telecommunications tower.
We returned to the dry of the van and photographed an impressive sunset from safety. As we recovered, an engine towing about 100 containers charged between us and the salt lake.
