Mount Surprise, on the Savannah Way, Queensland, Australia is a stopping spot for the Savannahlander, which claims to be the last great train ride, according to the promotional brochure. It runs from Cairns to a hamlet called Forsayth. Mt Surprise has the prettiest station I’ve seen and yet another classic pub.
A group of school students on an excursion joined the train. We’re giving it a miss this time, having done the Gulflander a few days ago.
